Our Story
CruisePortAdvisor.com was founded in 2014 by Jonathon and Joy Hyjek — a husband and wife team based in Canada who share a genuine obsession with cruise travel and, more specifically, the logistics that make or break a cruise vacation.
Most cruise sites focus on the ships. We focus on the ports — the parking, the hotels, the transportation, the shore excursions, and all the planning details that cruisers need before they ever set foot on a gangway. We believe that getting to and from the port smoothly is just as important as the cruise itself.
Over the past decade we've built one of the most comprehensive cruise port guide resources on the web, covering departure ports across the US and Canada as well as hundreds of destination ports around the world.
What We Cover
For every departure port we cover parking options, hotels (near port, park & cruise, and fly & cruise), transportation to the terminal, shore excursions, restaurants, and things to do before or after your cruise. For destination ports, we go deep on excursions, beaches, dining, shopping, and getting around.
We update our guides regularly and rely on a combination of our own research, reader-submitted tips from real cruisers, and daily monitoring of cruise news and port developments.

Our Approach to Accuracy
Port information changes — terminals open and close, parking rates shift, transportation options evolve. We do our best to keep guides current and we clearly note when information was last verified. We also rely on tips from real cruisers who've been there recently, which you'll find throughout the site.
If you spot something that's out of date or just plain wrong, please let us know. We take accuracy seriously.
Work With Us
We work with select partners in the cruise travel space — excursion operators, hotels, and travel services that we genuinely recommend to our readers. If you're interested in advertising or a partnership, visit our Advertise page.
