The Elite Beverage Package

The Elite Beverage Package is Holland America's top tier alcohol package, priced from around $55.95 per person, per day when purchased before your cruise, plus gratuity. It covers beer, spirits, cocktails, and wines by the glass priced at $16 or under, along with everything included in the Signature and Quench tiers beneath it. Guests get a 15 drink daily limit on alcoholic beverages, with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks on top of that.

The Elite Package covers:

• Premium beers, spirits, and wines by the glass up to the $16 price cap
• Premium cocktails, including signature drinks from Holland America's cocktail program
• Everything in the Signature package

The Signature Beverage Package

The Signature Beverage Package is Holland America's standard alcohol tier, priced from around $50.95 per person, per day pre-cruise, plus gratuity. It covers beers, wines by the glass, spirits, and cocktails priced at $12 or under, along with everything in the Quench package.

The Signature Package covers:

• Draft and bottled beers, most standard brands
• Wines by the glass, house and mid-range labels
• Well and call spirits, plus standard cocktails
• Specialty coffees, sodas, juices, mocktails, and bottled water, via the included Quench benefits

As with Elite, ordering above the $12 cap now means paying only the difference in price rather than the whole drink.

Quench and Coca-Cola: The Non-Alcoholic Options

Quench is Holland America's non-alcoholic package, priced at around $17.95 per person, per day, and covers up to 15 non-alcoholic drinks daily, including espresso based coffees, cappuccinos, juices, Coca-Cola products, mocktails, and energy drinks. It is included automatically with both Signature and Elite, so it only needs to be purchased on its own by passengers who do not drink alcohol.

What's Excluded From Every Package

A few things fall outside all four Holland America beverage packages, regardless of tier:

• Every beverage purchased on Half Moon Cay, Holland America's private island

Is the Holland America Drink Package Worth It?

The break-even math at the Signature level is fairly straightforward. A beer on board without a package typically runs about $8 to $9, a cocktail around $11 to $13, and a glass of wine roughly $9 to $14. At close to $51 a day before gratuity for Signature, you need somewhere in the range of 5 to 6 standard drinks a day to break even on alcohol alone. That is a real bar to clear.
